The tea tasting was in a large emporium and was really very interesting..did you know that white and green tea should only be brewed for 1 minute?
Any longer and it ruins the freshness of the flavor.
We tried various blends, I settled on one with peony flowers, which reminded me light of Jasmine tea, which I also bought.
It was such a surprise and so welcome on a very hot LA afternoon;
The store also had large bins of dried fish, vegetables and fungi for medicinal use

I am preparing:
a cooked but served cold, cucumber-mint soup; a blended carrot, parsnip and orange soup, and a minestrone with pasta.
This is followed by a chickpea hommus with pita breads
A Mexican Torta with kale and sun dried tomatoes..the kale is cooked for an hour with the tomatoes and served on whole wheat bread rolls/tortas ( own made) with feta cheese.
(The long slow cooking of the greens makes them very rich and deep flavored and the result is a great veggie version of a French Beef dip sandwich)
The entrees are:
A free form (Rustic) roasted vegetable tart with beets, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow bell peppers, and my black olives with cheese
Corn tortillas with sauteed plantains and spaghetti squash also with cheese on the side with a tomato salsa..this dish is assembled at the clients home
The desserts:
HRH Prince Charles's Bread & butter pudding..with Scotch whisky and orange marmalade
Orange and vanilla oatmeal cookies
Individual Dutch apple tarts
