The recipe for these is on this blog under January 11th 2013. (fresh bread from scratch in 2 hours).
I just added, 5 more tbsp sugar, dried fruit and
doubled the recipe adding
3tsp ground nutmeg
2tsp ground coriander
4tsp ground allspice
I decorated with the white cross by mixing 1/2 cup all purpose flour with water, 2 tbsp sugar and adding almond extract
bake on cornmeal covered trays in a preheated 400F oven for 15-20 mins
By soaking the dried fruit in water for a week, the residue from the chopped fruit is the syrup I glazed the hot buns.
The orange is my own local grown orange peel candied in simple syrup and air dried.
These are great split in two, toasted slathered with dairy butter and enjoy with poached or boiled eggs on Good Friday
