Strawberry Romanoff
6-8 servings
1 quart fresh ripe strawberries..washed, drained and stems removed ( larger ones sliced in half)
1/2 cup honey/1/4 cup sugar
In a medium bowl drizzle the berries with honey then set in fridge to cool.
meanwhile:
1 pint strawberry ice cream
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tbsp orange liqueur
Stir the ice cream to soften and fold in the sour cream and liqueur.
Place in a flat dish and freeze for 1 hour.
in Glass dishes:
1 pound cake cut into 1 inch chunks placed in bottom of the glasses
top with the semi frozen strawberry-ice cream mix
top this with whipped unsweetened cream
serve immediately
Frozen Peaches & Cream Mousse
2 cups very ripe peaches
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup sugar or 2 tbsp honey
3tbsp peach brandy or almond liqueur
1 quart vanilla ice cream
sliced fresh peaches for garnish
Drain the mashed peaches (keep the juice) and combine with the cream and sweetener, fold together well and fold in the liqueur.
In a large bowl, allow the ice cream to soften, fold in the peach mixture.
Gently fold into a large jelly mold and freeze overnight.
to serve:
Unmold onto a serving plate ( you may dip the mold in hot water to loosen slightly)
Drizzle with the reserve fresh peach juice and any extra liqueur.
Garnish with fresh peach slices and server
