Vegetable soup topped with fresh basil, Mushroom & chickpea soup with coconut cream; Kale, garlic and chickpea soup; Photos of prep for deliveries..plus own grown FRESH veggies used today!

Own grown and picked yesterday after threats of frost,  day time temps in the 70f's

Photo taken today used some of the peppers in a pasta sauce

Perpetual Basil...I have fresh basil all year round, and lots of bees

Asian Eggplant photo taken today

The past few days have been cold by LA standards, low 60's daytime temps and low 40's at night, but now it is heating up.
Today should be 72F and by the weekend mid 70f's

So I have picked all my green tomatoes ( threat of frost last night..nothing happened) and will ripen over next few weeks on window sills and leave the peppers and eggplants to produce over next few months, Last January it was warmer than this June.

The menu for delivery tomorrow:

A packed vegetable soup finished with fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil

Side view of mushroom soup

Basil and Olive oil topped vegetable soup

Garlic, Kale & Chickpea soup

a light "Cream' of Mushroom with chickpeas, garlic and nutmeg.
This one is not thickened and has coconut cream added and chopped parsley

There is also going to be an asparagus, green bean and chickpea salad with lemon dressing

2 roast rosemary*-garlic chickens ..yes I am doing meat dishes for some clients..these will feature on other blog, Chorley Cakes along with the mushroom, black bean and ground turkey Bolognaise with pasta, these photos I will post tomorrow

Also roasted rosemary potatoes with own grown rosemary*

* did you know that it is bad luck to buy a rosemary plant for yourself?...ask a friend to buy one for you or root a heavy rosemary twig in cold water over several weeks and plant out  (I have several "new" rosemary bushes last year by doing this)

No desserts nor breads as everyone is trying to fit into their summer dresses for the Holidays..this is due to change by next week. when I start offering pies and cakes again.....lol
