Blended yam and vegetable soup with coconut milk

Filling for the Vegetable and cheese strudels

Pinto Bean South-West Style Vegan Chili will be served with steamed quinoa and buckwheat

Butternut Squash and Yam Vegan  Tagine will be served with wholewheat couscous

Yes we finally have some good rain, not had any decent rain for 9 months, now we are having record down pours and snow pack in the mountains up north

Now we are  are at last having some rain and it is warm rain having come up from Mexico.
Odd to see folks on the street in T shirts and shorts with umbrellas.
But also time for some hearty California style winter foods....low fat vegan soups and stews and spicy gingerbread's.
The vegan chili is not spicy but is packed with vegetables and herbs, in a tomato-bell pepper based sauce, it also has beets in, to fool the folks who don't eat them enough. 
It is going to be a rainy weekend too.
