Beautiful orange Fall colors for a sunny and warm, Fall Southern California Day.
We are finished with the mini heatwaves thank goodness, now into  higher than usual Fall Temperatures.

There are some great yams and sweet potatoes in the stores now, the drought has made these vegetables much more sweet than usual and they tend to have a more dense flesh..making the most of  them while they are nice and fresh.

Also please encourage your local markets to sell over ripe fruit  and misshapen vegetables. Too much good food is wasted  by markets as they are not uniform in shape.  As long as they are fresh and not bruised they are fine, in fact most over ripe fruit is better than under ripe, as their flavors/sweetness are more pronounced and in the end you end up spending less.

This is ANOTHER  reason my photos of fresh produce tend to look a bit "weathered", they have more flavor and are  wonderfully fresh.
