Life is stressful enough without eating foods that create it...

As we head to the Holiday Season..more and more people are going to be suffering from added stress, either planning to cater or attend parties can bring on stress; trying to maneuver through "holiday traffic, crowded stores, & "Cold & Flu season".

The following are foods that create MORE stress on the body:

THE NO NO'S

Caffeine: this causes a release of adrenaline, which increases stress; caffeine addicts "wear out" the stress hormone-producing adrenal glands.
This can effect metabolism so can result in weight gain.

Alcohol also stimulates the production of adrenaline, and also limits the ability of the liver to remove toxins ( many of which are produced by stress) from the body.

Sugar contains no essential nutrients, and although it can produce short-term energy boosts, it can lead to exhaustion of the adrenal glands.
High sugar intake also puts stress on the pancreas and can lead to diabetes.

Salty foods..cause high blood pressure, depletes the adrenal glands and causes emotional instability.

Fatty foods..junk foods, animal fats, saturated fats, put stress on the heart.

Cow's milk and dairy products, can cause stress due to high protein Casein that is difficult to digest  for some people and can cause allergic reactions

Red Meat..high protein elevates the levels of dopamine and norepinephrine, both of which are associated with higher levels of stress & anxiety

Refined and over processed foods: white flour, white breads, stress the body because they are low in nutrients, and cause body to  deplete it's own reserves of vitamins and minerals.

Margarine/ trans fat..block the body's assimilation of health-boosting essential fatty acids; also has negative effect on cholesterol, increasing risk of heart disease.
Additives, preservatives and other chemicals, stress the body as it either cannot deal with them or has trouble, using up valuable nutrients and energy, which could have been used boosting the immune system.
