Brechbuehier style Apple Tart Recipe

Kathy is another friend from college, who lives in Davos Platz, Switzerland..this is for her and her husband as she loves to cook and bake


1 unbaked,pastry 9 inch pie shell
(everything at room temp.)
4 medium sized apples..peeled,cored, pared and sliced (your choice of apples)
1/2 cup sugar
1tbsp lemon juice
3 large eggs
1  1/2 cups lightly whipped cream
2 tbsp melted butter
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg


2 tbsp sugar for topping

PREHEAT OVEN 400F

In a bowl,  mix the apple slices, lemon juice  and sugar, mix well to coat each slice then arrange the apple slices in circles on the base of the pie shell..overlapping.
BAKE IN HOT OVEN FOR 20 MINS ...MIDDLE SHELF

Beat eggs well then fold in the cream, melted butter and nutmeg and pour over the apples.
Return to oven and bake 10 more minutes...then remove and sprinkle with sugar and bake 10 more minutes..or until top is golden brown.
Cool on a wire for at least 2 hours before cutting
