Butterscotch Fudge Bars, with Browned Butter Frosting....WONDERFUL RECIPES

Before adding a good dollop of frosting or vanilla ice cream

Butterscotch Fudge Brownies with browned butter frosting
Makes 12 large
preheat oven 350
buttered 9x9x2 inch baking pan or ovenproof dish

1 cup butter
4 ozs dark chocolate
melt in a heavy bottomed saucepan,very slowly.

remove from heat and add:
3 cups packed brown sugar..allow to cool slightly before adding:
3 large beaten eggs, beat well then add 2 tsp vanilla extract.

in another medium bowl:
Mix together   3 cups all purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda;
stir into batter.

fold in 1 cup chopped nuts ( optional)


Spread into baking pan and smooth top

Bake middle oven 30-35 mins until sides come away from pan

Cool in pan and when able to cut into bars.
Frost

Browned Butter Frosting:
Ina heavy based pan, lightly brown 12 tbsp butter, allow to cool.
Gradually beat in 4 cups powdered sugar , 1 tsp vanilla or coconut extract. slowly adding 3 tbsp hot water to spreading consistency..this is fabulous.
May also be smothered in soft vanilla ice cream!
